第 一 章CHAPTER I
门扉之内Behind the Gate
「荷鲁斯之屋」是一间独立游戏工作室。名字来自一局三千年前的游戏——棋盘上的最后一格。 House 30 is an independent game studio. The name comes from a game played three thousand years ago — from the last square on its board.
塞尼特棋（Senet）是已知最古老的棋类游戏之一，古埃及人玩了三千年。棋盘三十格连成一条路——它不只是一局棋，更是一趟灵魂前往来世的旅程。 Senet is among the oldest board games we know of; the Egyptians played it for three thousand years. Its thirty squares form a path — not merely a game, but the soul’s journey to the afterlife.
第三十格是终点，古人称它「荷鲁斯之屋」。走到那里，旅程结束：灵魂进入来世，与荷鲁斯结合，就此获得新生。 The thirtieth square is the end. The ancients called it the House of Horus. To arrive there is to finish the journey — to enter the afterlife, join with Horus, and be reborn.
我们借了这个终点的名字。做游戏的人不该忘记：三千年前，人们造出游戏，是为了把一个人送到别处去。 We borrowed the name of that final square. People who make games should not forget what games were first for — to carry someone somewhere else.
